Bosch Hall sensor (ignition pulse sensor) 1 237 031 296 for the ignition distributor. On transistorised ignition systems, the Hall sensor replaces the contact breaker points: a shutter on the distributor shaft interrupts the sensor’s magnetic field and the control unit uses this signal to trigger the spark. A faulty Hall sensor typically means the engine will not start or cuts out while driving.
