Lubricating Felt for Ignition Distributors – Large & Small

The lubricating felt for ignition distributors is an important maintenance and spare part for classic ignition distributors. It serves to absorb and store lubricating oil and supports the lubrication of the mechanical components designed for this purpose.

Sufficient lubrication is particularly important for historical ignition distributors to reduce friction and premature wear and to support the long-term function of the mechanics.

Lubricating Felt for Ignition Distributor Rebuild

As part of a professional ignition distributor rebuild, the existing lubricating felts are checked in addition to the bearings, thrust washers, and other wear parts.

A contaminated, hardened, or damaged lubricating felt can impair proper lubricant supply.

Timely replacement helps to maintain the functionality of the intended lubrication point.

Please observe the manufacturer’s specifications for the respective ignition distributor during assembly and lubrication.

Use only suitable lubricants and avoid excessive oiling.

Important for Fit:

Not every ignition distributor uses the same lubricating felt. The two sizes offered are therefore not generally interchangeable.

Lubricating Felt Large: Size suitable for old aluminum distributors and cast iron distributors

Lubricating Felt Small: Size suitable for newer aluminum distributors and cast iron distributors
